GPI provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection services for a 84,500 sqft expansion at St. Luke’s University Health Network.
The expansion houses the Women & Babies pavilion at the hospital, located in Allentown, PA. The new, five-story space includes emergency delivery treatment rooms, labor and delivery floor, post-partum rooms, staff space, and a basement. The addition allowed the network to double their ability to support up to 3,000 births per year.
GPI’s mechanical work included a new HVAC system, extended central heating and cooling plants to accommodate the addition, and new exhaust systems. The project also included new electrical service and distribution system, new interior lighting, extended fire alarm and security systems.
