Within 10 years, nearly 32,000 people are expected to use Polk Parkway as part of their daily commute. This $61 million undertaking will provide increased capacity on the roadway for local commuters, visitors, and freight customers.
This project consisted of widening the Polk Parkway (SR 570) from two lanes to four lanes. This project also included the construction of a fully directional interchange at Braddock Road, roundabouts at the ramp terminals with Braddock Road, a new mainline bridge over CR 546, widening/reconstruction of Braddock Road from two lanes to four lanes (divided), realignment of the City of Auburndale Water Treatment Plant access road, and improvements to the neighborhood roads south of Braddock Road. The existing mainline toll plaza tolling structure was demolished and new all-electronic tolling was constructed on the Polk Parkway mainline and the westbound exit and eastbound entrance ramps at Braddock Road. Other improvements included the milling and resurfacing and safety upgrades.
