GPI provided engineering consulting services for Northrop Grumman’s two building campus at Redstone Gateway in Huntsville, AL.

Each of the two buildings spans 125,000 sqft and is designed to support Northrop Grumman’s mission to deliver rapid, innovative solutions for missile defense, protecting the nation and its allies. Designed with security and functionality, the space features a 60/40 open-to-closed office ratio and specialized areas, including a 5,000 sqft auditorium, 37,500 sqft of SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility) space, a cutting-edge hardware-in-the-loop integration lab designed for robust research and development, a 3,000 sqft café, a 1,200 sqft fitness center, and dedicated areas like LAN rooms and a Data Center.

GPI’s part in the project covered mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Electrical design included lighting and lit bollards at the connector between the two buildings, convenience power, and lighting at the courtyard and patio. The Data Center, LAN Rooms, and Lab Rooms in both spaces were designed as core and shell, with the final design provided by a third party, DataSpan. With a focus on enhancing operating efficiencies and providing a dynamic work environment, GPI helped create a secure, high-tech facility aligned with Northrop Grumman’s mission to push the boundaries of aerospace and defense technology.
