Massachusetts Department of Transportation MassDOT Shop and Field Coating Inspection

GPI has been providing coating services for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) since 1999 under several separate contracts. Services typically include review, comment, and approval of submittals associated with contracts that include the containment, surface preparation, and coating of bridges in the field or in a shop environment, as well as providing trained and experienced coating inspectors for oversight and enforcement of contract provisions related to cleaning and coating operations.

I-90 over the Housatonic River | Lee, MA: Provided coatings inspection services and contractor submittal reviews for multiple bridge repairs in Lee, MA. Inspections were conducted in various locations for bridges on the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) over Route 20 and the Housatonic River. Work was performed for the duration of the cleaning and coatings operations.

Three Bridges over I-195 & I-95 | Norwood/Somerset, MA: Providing project oversight and full-time inspection for the ongoing three-bridge cleaning and coating operations for multiple bridges in Norwood and Somerset, MA. Operations include night work for overpasses, which often utilize rapid deployment units and heat induced curing methods.

Longfellow Bridge Repairs | Boston, MA: Provided bridge decorative handrail shop coatings inspection services for Longfellow Bridge in Boston over the Charles River. The project included cleaning and painting of original decorative rails for this historic bridge rehabilitation project. Work was performed at New England Sandblasting & Painting in West Wareham, MA.
