UESI, a wholly owned subsidiary of GPI, was contracted by Jonathan’s Landing Property Owners Association for the removal of a failing rip-rap bag, headwall, and flap gate associated with a 36-inch lake equalization drainage pipe. In the initial phase, the team, led by UESI, initiated the project by demolishing the existing headwall and flap gate. Following this, the crew meticulously graded and compacted the soils in preparation for the new cast-in-place concrete headwall.
UESI’s team then proceeded to construct the formwork, skillfully installed reinforcing steel, and executed the pouring of the new concrete headwall. After allowing sufficient time for concrete curing, the proficient crews seamlessly removed the formwork and proceeded to install the new high-density polyethylene (HDPE) flap gate. Subsequently, they undertook such tasks as backfilling, grading, and site restoration to ensure a comprehensive and polished result.
From the project’s initiation to its successful completion, every phase progressed seamlessly without encountering any issues. The client, overseeing the entire process, expressed deep satisfaction with the crew’s professionalism, the steady progression of the project, and the exceptional quality of the finished product.
