Pat Kenneally, PE, joined GPI in 1994 as a design engineer and has risen to become a project engineer, project manager, department manager, branch manager, regional officer, and now CEO. During his career, Pat has managed several branches, been involved in acquisitions, and successfully grown and diversified GPI’s services.
Pat is a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and is a licensed Professional Engineer in seven states. As a staunch believer in GPI’s Seven Strategic Objectives, Pat is focused on fostering the unique culture created by our founders Bert Pedersen and Beecher Greenman, as well as ensuring that GPI continues to grow and thrive for the benefit of our employee owners, our clients, and the communities we serve.
Outside of work, Pat enjoys spending time with family and traveling.

What has been your greatest achievement or your proudest moment while working at GPI?
Like most people who are fortunate enough to work in the engineering and construction industry, the proudest moments are always when you’re traveling with your family or friends and you can point to something… a bridge, a trail, a school, a hospital, etc…and say, “I helped build that.” Being a part of lasting and impactful projects is what makes our line of work so meaningful and rewarding.

Who or what inspires you?
I am inspired every day by the dedicated professionals at all levels of GPI. The technical expertise, work ethic, integrity, and fun-loving nature of our team impresses and inspires me every day.
