Advancing excellence in bridge engineering and preservation
With every bridge service GPI offers, we leverage our extensive technical knowledge and experience to provide our clients with a clearly defined and thoughtful strategy to accomplish their desired scope of work.
Our nation’s infrastructure depends on the more than 600,000 bridges connecting public roads, including Interstate and U.S. Highways, State and local roads, and federal Lands. Since almost 40% of these bridges are over 50 years old, systematic inspection and preservation techniques are necessary to monitor and prolong the life of the bridge inventory. GPI has provided inspection, planning, and design services to maintain our nation’s bridge infrastructure for almost 60 years and is nationally recognized as a leader in bridge preservation.
GPI leverages our extensive expertise in bridge design and preservation to projects involving bridges of all sizes and shapes – from simple culverts and short-span workhorse bridges to major curved girder flyovers and long-span structures to complex truss rehabilitation. We are well-versed in the latest technology in design services software, 3-D and 4-D modeling, structural condition assessment, and material testing. GPI engineers are involved in several national committees dedicated to preserving our nation’s structures and advancing the design codes, even developing and instructing National Highway Institute courses related to bridges. Due to our reputation and history of responsiveness, our clients have often called GPI to respond to unexpected and critical bridge events that warranted an emergency response.
