UESI, a wholly owned subsidiary of GPI, collaborated with Martin County on this seawall replacement project.
The multifaceted endeavor included the removal of an existing 300-foot-long wood boardwalk, as well as the removal and relocation of several 70-foot-tall palm trees. In addition, the project incorporated the installation of over 30 linear feet of helical tiebacks to address structural concerns.
The central focus of the project was the installation of a new 400-foot-long seawall in front of a deteriorating existing seawall. The innovative design of the new seawall featured a combination of steel sheet pile and cast-in-place concrete, ensuring a robust and enduring structure. To enhance stability and erosion control, approximately 1,000 tons of rip rap stone were strategically placed in front of the new seawall.
